Skills Required (Primary)
We are looking for a candidate with strong, hands-on primary skills in Azure Local and Azure Arc (300–400 level). The candidate should be able to design, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot end-to-end hybrid infrastructure solutions.
Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) – deployment, configuration, and operations
- Software Defined Networking (SDN): plan and implement SDN components, configure logical networks, and troubleshoot connectivity and policy issues.
- Network ATC: design and apply intent-based networking, validate NIC teaming/RDMA settings, and remediate configuration drift.
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D): deploy and configure clustered storage, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting resiliency/health issues.
- Storage provisioning and management: create/expand volumes and shares, manage tiering/resiliency settings, and operate using Windows Admin Center/PowerShell.
- Azure Arc (primary): onboard servers and Azure Local resources, manage policies and extensions, enable monitoring/governance, and troubleshoot connectivity/agent issues.
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), optional: core understanding of host pools, session hosts, and hybrid identity considerations for deployment and operations.
- Virtual machines: create and manage VM workloads on Azure Local, including sizing, availability, and troubleshooting of compute and storage dependencies.
- Azure Update Manager: plan and operate update orchestration for hybrid machines, reporting/compliance, and remediation.
Windows Server (Windows Server 2012 R2-2025 = advanced level) :
- Virtualization (Azure Stack HCI/Local, Hyper-V, VMware)
- System Center Virtual Machine Manager - SCVMM
Secondary Skills (Nice to Have)
Working knowledge and implementation experience in the following areas is beneficial:
- Azure Backup: implement and manage backups for hybrid workloads (including Azure Local/VMs), configure policies and retention, and validate restores.
- Azure Storage: core services and integration patterns (storage accounts, access control, networking/private endpoints), and using Azure Storage for backup/archival scenarios.
