Skills Required (Primary)

We are looking for a candidate with strong, hands-on primary skills in Azure Backup and Azure Storage (300–400 level). The candidate should be able to design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot backup and storage solutions for hybrid workloads.

Azure Backup & Azure Storage – design, implementation, and operations

• Azure Backup: design and implement backup for Azure/hybrid workloads (Azure VMs, on-prem/hybrid servers), define policies (schedule, retention), configure vaults, and validate restore procedures.
• Backup operations and troubleshooting: monitor jobs, handle failures, perform test restores, and support recovery scenarios (file/folder, VM, and application-consistent restores where applicable).
• Azure Storage: strong understanding of storage accounts, blob/file services, redundancy options, lifecycle management, and performance considerations.
• Security and networking: implement RBAC, shared access signatures/managed identity patterns, encryption options, and private connectivity (e.g., private endpoints) where needed.
• Integration patterns: use Azure Storage for backup/archival scenarios and integrate storage with hybrid services and workloads as required.
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), optional: core understanding of host pools, session hosts, and hybrid identity considerations for deployment and operations.
• Virtual machines (general): understand VM workload requirements and recovery dependencies, including sizing, availability, and backup/restore implications.
• Azure Update Manager: plan and operate update orchestration for hybrid machines, reporting/compliance, and remediation.
• Windows Server (Windows Server 2012 R2-2025 = advanced level) :
• Virtualization (Azure Stack HCI/Local, Hyper-V, VMware)
• System Center Virtual Machine Manager - SCVMM

Secondary Skills (Nice to Have)

Working knowledge and implementation experience in the following areas is beneficial (secondary):

• Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI): familiarity with deployment and operations concepts (SDN, Network ATC, S2D), and using Windows Admin Center/PowerShell for day-to-day management.
• Azure Arc: familiarity with onboarding hybrid servers/resources, policy and extensions, and troubleshooting common agent/connectivity issues.
